Mukibanda Historical Site

Mukiband Historical site is Yayoi era ruins located at foot of Daisen which is called Banda Yama. There are more than 400 of about 1700~2000 years old dugouts, and more than 500 of pit-houses. The fact, it is one of the largest Yayoi settlements and became well known through the nation.

The huge area, as large as about 40 Tokyo Dome, has been designated national historical site. Currently, it still continues the investigation.
They are focusing on maintain and restoring those about 1800 year old most vigorous settlement.

The overlooking view of Sea of Japan and beautiful Yumigahama is spectacular. You may think back to the ancient feeling the breath of the Yayoi people.
